Known as the Keffiyeh (pronounced “Kufiya” in Palestine), this piece carries deep cultural and symbolic meaning. For generations, it has stood as a powerful emblem of resistance, resilience, and freedom for the Palestinian people.
Each keffiyeh is handcrafted using a traditional cross-stitch weaving method passed down through generations. It’s made of two carefully layered weaves, the base and the intricate pattern (known as “warda” or “flower” in Arabic).

Love this shemagh. I'm probably the only person on the planet who wears this wrapped about my eyes at night to prevent dry eye syndrome. I won't give up my fans, so I found an alternative solution. This one in white is my summer preference. I have two of these in light colors (they just "feel" cooler). I also have two in dark colors for winter wear. The best part is I found wraps to coordinate with my linens. I think these have the perfect balance of weight for function. Good material. Machine washes and dries beautifully, although I prefer the smell of summer sun drying when possible. This brand in white is super soft, and the white color is a soft bright white.

Bought as part of a wedding gift for my wonderful friends with family originally from Al-Quds. It hardly seems enough to say that Hirbawi produces beautiful work, but I'm fortunate to have the means to support the craft and history here.
